A Bullis Charter School Middle School Math and Science Teacher...

  • Designs and implements curricula that align with the Next Generation Science Standards (integrated model) and the California Common Core Math Standards; develops students' mathematical understanding in courses ranging from 6th grade Common Core aligned math to Algebra II.
  • Teaches integrated units of instruction, Project Based Learning units, and "intersession," as well as stand alone math and science units.
  • Provides meaningful, timely feedback to students and parents and analyzes data in order to further improve his/her differentiated instructional program.
  • Assists students in creating, tracking, and meeting their goals as students.
  • Welcomes the opportunity to collaborate across subject areas with an interdisciplinary teaching team that plans long-term units together.
  • Is familiar with Project Based Learning and Design Thinking and/or is willing to complete professional development in those areas.
  • Is interested in diving deeper into students' individual passions/interests and is willing to sponsor a club in which students pursue those passions/interests.
  • Is a risk-taker who constantly improves his/her instruction in order to better develop scientists, mathematicians, problem-solvers, inventors, architects, and engineers, not just students who do science or math.
