A Bullis Charter School Middle School Science Teacher...

  • Designs and implements curricula that align with the Next Generation Science Standards (integrated model) and California Common Core State Standards.
  • Provides meaningful, timely feedback to students and parents and analyses data in order to further improve his/her differentiated instructional program.
  • Sets and works towards teaching goals and is comfortable assisting students in creating, tracking, and meeting their goals as students.
  • Welcomes the opportunity to collaborate across subject areas with an interdisciplinary teaching team who plan long-term units together.
  • Is excited to work with a small science team in creating and implementing 6th-8th grade science curriculum.
  • Is familiar with Project Based Learning and Design Thinking and/or is willing to complete professional development in those areas.
  • Is interested in diving deeper into students' individual passions/interests and is willing to sponsor a club where students pursue those passions/interests.
  • Is a risk-taker who constantly improves his/her instruction in order to better develop scientists, not just students who do science.
