BULLIS CHARTER SCHOOL - Physical Education Teacher
RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Develop Physical Education lesson plans appropriate to grade level needs for grades K-8. Work cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning a balanced physical education program that transitions to middle and high school
-
Teach knowledge and skills in all the areas addressed in the state Physical Education Standards
-
Integrate PE standards with other subject areas
-
Instruct pupils in citizenship, sportsmanship and communication skills
-
Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior that maintain an orderly, productive environment
-
Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service training, workshops and clinics provided by the school and other sources
-
Communicate with parents and regular classroom teachers on individual student progress or needs
-
Prepare progress reports and develop a method of evaluation for measuring each pupil’s growth in physical fitness and in physical skills and knowledge
-
Provide appropriate safety instruction to students & staff. Conduct safety checks on equipment to ensure the overall safety of students
-
Order, store, and maintain appropriate equipment necessary for a comprehensive Physical Education program
OTHER DUTIES:

Knowledge of and experience in implementing the state Physical Education standards
CREDENTIALS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES:
- Appropriate California Single Subject teaching credential authorizing the instruction of physical education
