We are looking for a dynamic teacher to join our team. This teacher will teach all junior high math for 6-8th grade. Our math is split to accommodate accelerated math for these three grade levels. St. Catherine of Siena School is a thriving parish school community. Our goal is to educate students in our faith while placing a high value on academics. We accomplish this with parental support through an emphasis on the Catholic values of respect for human dignity, respect for creation and environment, care and compassion, honesty and integrity, forgiveness, peace, faithfulness, service, love and justice. 2016-2017 is our 31st year. Our current enrolment is 270 students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our school population is 95% Catholic. Our experienced faculty work well together. As lifelong-learners they participate in professional development workshops throughout the year. We provide a full curriculum in Common Core standards teaching Religion, Math, Literature/Reading, Writing/Language, Science, Social Studies, Art, Computer, Music, Physical Education and Spanish for all students K-8th grade. In working toward the diocesan goal of preparing students for college and career, we prepare our students well for high school academically, technologically, and in presentation skills. It is important for us to monitor student progress; we do this through regular and formative assessments. Students in 3rd through 8th grades take the national ACT test in the spring as well as Renaissance Place Star Assessments four times during the school year. Students learn through outside classroom activities such as church service, sports, science camp and field trips, student government, and academic contests. Our campus is located in Vallejo, the North Bay. We are a commuting distance from Napa, Oakland, and San Francisco.
