Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print

iD Tech is hiring 250 management staff to manage onsite operations for summer camps across 29 states. Don’t let the word “tech” worry you -- you will be surrounded by tech-savvy instructors. But they need a leader, and that’s where YOU come in! Our programs inspire students ages 7-17 through cutting-edge technology and a fun, dynamic learning environment.

You will mentor a staff of talented, dedicated instructors who have a passion for technology. Each instructor leads a class of 8 students in subjects like robotics, programming, or 3D printing. As an iD Tech Director or Assistant Director, you will ensure that camp runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis; this includes planning activities and keeping staff on-schedule, chatting with students, and interacting with parents.

We take care to make sure camp doesn’t feel like school, so we rely on our Directors to keep things fun with theme days, games, and camp traditions like our weekly raffle. As much as you are overseeing the fun of camp, you are also responsible for the safety and well-being of dozens of students and staff members. While your students engineer robots, you will use your organizational and problem-solving skills to engineer a safe, welcoming, and epic camp experience!

For 7 years in a row, iD Tech has been named a Top Workplace by the Bay Area News Group. Our programs are located at 160 university and school locations across the country. We have both day and overnight positions available.

Here are a few awesome side effects of a summer with iD Tech:

  • Your staff and students look up to you as a mentor and guide.
  • Leadership and administrative experience added to your resume.
  • Competitive compensation.
  • Tech boost: Exposure to cutting-edge technology, including our curriculum for 60+ courses.
  • Networking opportunities with parents and university staff.
  • Did we mention changing young lives through tech?

An iD Tech Director or Assistant Director:

  • Understands the importance of quality technology education for kids and teens.
  • Loves to work hard AND play hard.
  • Is a flexible team player with strong communication skills.
  • Has a positive attitude and a sense of humor.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain Pediatric & Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certifications in order to be eligible to work in this position.

Qualified applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • Excellent customer service.
  • Organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with parents.

Preferred qualities:

  • Formal classroom management experience.
  • Summer camp experience.
  • Tech experience is helpful but not necessary.
  • Experience managing other adults.
  • Some states require that Camp Directors be at least 25 years old (by first day of work).
