Ocean Charter School (OCS) is a Public Waldorf School using a Waldorf approach to teach common core standards in a public school setting. We are accepting applications for Kindergarten teaching positions and we welcome like-minded individuals interested in Waldorf Education to apply. Kindergarten classes are mixed age groupings with Transitional Kindergarteners and Kindergarteners in the same class together. Our Kindergarten is a two-year developmental program and Kindergarten teachers typically remain teaching in the Kindergarten.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications for Teachers: 1. Bachelor's Degree 2. Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential 3. Other credentials meeting NCLB "Highly-qualified" criteria 4. Waldorf Teaching Certificate 5. Experience in Waldorf kindergarten teaching preferred Send by May 1, 2017: a) Letter of Intent b) Copy of Bachelor’s Degree c) California Teaching Credential c) Copy of Waldorf Certificate d) Resume e) 3 Letters of Recommendation

Ocean Charter School has such a high demand for Kindergarten spaces that we are planning for an additional Kindergarten class! We are seeking an experienced Kindergarten teacher to bring the Waldorf pedagogy to life, via storytelling, singing, recitation, movement, watercolor painting, beeswax modeling, drawing, finger knitting, crafting, gardening, cooking, and baking! The common core standards are embedded in the life of the Kindergarten in a way that the children experience a rhythmic and play-based program. The ideal candidate creates a beautiful and joyous environment rich with seasonal festivals!
We are accepting applications for kindergarten teachers for the 2017-2018 school year. Our school offers professional development opportunities, mentoring, and a supportive working environment.
