Definition

Performance Responsibilities:

Under general supervision of the full-time Department Coordinator, provides technical assistance and support tasks to students and faculty in the Digital Media Arts & Design computer labs.  Assignments are expected to be approximately 14 hours per week, and not to exceed 28 hours per week or 160 days per Fiscal Year.

 

Example of Duties: Duties may include, but not limited to, the following:

1. Oversee student computer, scanner and printer use within the lab.

2. Make student lab I.D. Cards.

3. Monitor and distribute ink cartridges, photo paper and other lab supplies.

4. Check in/out, monitor inventory and demonstrate proper operation of lab equipment.

5. Respond to student questions and provide information regarding subject matter.

6. Prepare student projects for printing application.

7. Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment.

8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of:

1. Modern office practices, procedures, methods and electronic technology.

2. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.

3. Current word processing, spreadsheet and database programs, methods and techniques.

4. Apple Macintosh computer systems and file management.

5. Current Adobe Creative Cloud software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Muse, Flash and After Effects.

6. Digital cameras, image scanning, and preparing files for print.

 

Conditions of Employment

Employment is on a part-time, temporary basis and contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification as governed under Education Code requirements, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Assignments are short-term, temporary, and do not offer fringe benefits or pay for holidays or time not worked, and are limited to 28 hours per week or 160 days per fiscal year. The hours of work and effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor. 

 

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. Applications are accepted year-round and will remain in the pool for one year. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. Please do not call the Office of Human Resources regarding the status of your application.

 

The normal hours of work are typically 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., or 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; some flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the department, including evening and/or weekend hours for special events.

Regular attendance is considered an essential job function; the inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude the employee from retaining employment.
