Schedule for the position is most likely 25.42 hours per week. Five days per week: 8:45-2:40 Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and 8:45-12:30 Wed. Fewer hours may be possible if desired. Step 1 starting salary $10.50 per hour; salary scale increases with years of experience.

Job description: Primary duties including assisting a student with special needs according to the specifications of their individualized education plan. Training will be provided.
Additional duties include general classroom assistance under the supervision of the classroom teacher: instruct individuals; lead small or large-group activities; complete assigned record-keeping functions; assist with beginning-of-year set up (in future years) and end-of-year clean-up of classroom; assist with daily set up and clean up; work with classroom teacher to plan and support curriculum themes and activities; assist with outdoor activities, classroom music, P.E., garden, and computer lab; attend staff meetings, parent meetings, parent conferences, and school events as appropriate; assist with lunch service and clean-up; supervise a lunchroom table during lunch period daily; supervise play yard; maintain school rules and school health and safety procedures; other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities: Must be responsible and attentive. Experience working with children, especially children with special needs, and strong communication skills are desirable. Teaching, aiding, tutoring, or similar experience is valuable.
