Job Summary

Each family and student is assigned an Education Specialist (ES). An ES must meet with their student(s) and/or parent at least once every 20 school attendance days. A full-time ES with 25 students works for a minimum of 6 hours a day during the academic year. This time includes all educational duties, administrative duties, Tiger Time, and paperwork. In the event an ES’s caseload falls below 25 students, the ES may be assigned additional duties to maintain a full 1.0 FTE workload. ESs are required to attend monthly online group staff meetings and up to two two-day All Staff/Professional Development in-person meetings each year. Additional in-person and/or online training may be necessary (such as Friday trainings), during WASC years, for policy implementation/review, and for new ES trainings, etc.

CWCS offers a $1,000 stipend for a Master’s degree and a $2,000 stipend for a Doctorate, $1,500 monthly allotment to be used for medical, dental, and vision premiums. CalSTRS retirement. This role offers flexibility and encourages creativity and innovation in teaching. We are seeking dedicated credentialed teachers who are culturally responsive and have demonstrated success working with students across a range of academic levels. Ideal candidates have experience supporting marginalized youth and collaborating with families from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Positions are available to provide exceptional educational services in the Alameda, Santa Clara, Contra Costa, San Mateo, and San Francisco areas. Connecting Waters is a TK–12 independent public charter school serving the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, San Mateo, San Francisco, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, and Tuolumne. Teachers have the flexibility to choose the geographic areas they prefer to serve.
