POSITION DESCRIPTION: The position of SAI Teacher is responsible for providing general education (core academic subjects) and special education instructional services for court/community school students (special education and regular education); ensuring compliance with special education compliance regulations, probation regulations, court orders, etc., and processing new students in accordance with court/probation requirements. This position may supervise instructional aides and/or clerical staff and is under the general supervision of the site principal for day to day operations and a special education administrator for guidance regarding IDEA regulations/compliance. Please see job description for a list of job functions and minimum qualifications. The Riverside County Office of Education Alternative Education program includes Community School, Court School and Come Back Kids Charter School. The following documents must be attached to your Ed-Join application prior to the position closing date/time: •Current Resume •Valid California Multiple or Single Subject Teaching Credential and •Valid California Mild/Moderate or equivalent Special Education credential (RCOE will consider you for a position if you are willing to enter a credential program and become intern eligible for an Education Specialist credential) *Application must be completely filled out EXPERIENCE: Experience relevant to the duties set forth in the Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) Teacher job description will be considered when making the selection decision. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university is required. Master’s Degree desired.

CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: Possession of a valid California Multiple or Single Subject Teaching Credential and possession of a valid California Mild/Moderate or equivalent Special Education credential. Intern eligibility will be considered. English Learner certification also required. Successful candidates will be NCLB compliant at the secondary level in Math, Science, English, and Social Science or become compliant within one year of employment. Applicants who have not utilized their credential(s) within the last 39 months in a school district must show verification of meeting the Basic Skills Requirement (i.e., CBEST, ACT scores, etc.). You must provide evidence of qualifying for this credential with your application. The following documents are required upon hire: Valid CA Driver's License, Fingerprint Clearance, TB Clearance, Bachelor's Degree. Qualified applicants will be scheduled for a phone interview shortly thereafter.
