PRESCHOOL ASSOCIATE TEACHER – STONE SOUP FRESNO 

This position will provide comprehensive child development and early education program support for the preschool children and families within the Early Childhood Education Center at Stone Soup Fresno.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Offer education, care and guidance for all children. Ages can vary between 3 and 5 years old dependent upon classroom placement.
• Assist in developing weekly learning experience and prepare lesson plans.
• Assist in preparing, planning and providing a balanced, integrated and appropriate instruction for all children including those with special needs.
• Assist in assessment activities.
• Convey instructional, facility, health and safety needs to teacher/master teacher.
• Encourage parent involvement and have parent contact on a daily basis.
• Attend parent meetings and other activities.
• Assist in fund-raising activities.
• Participate in professional development and educational programs at the center, organization and through ECE organization.
• Assist in eligibility, recruitment, and family advocacy activities
• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will occasionally provide guidance for student assistants and volunteers working in the classroom, under the direction of the Preschool Teacher and/or Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in early childhood education and/or culturally-focused programs preferred

Bilingual preferred (Hmong/English, Khmer/English, Lao/English, Spanish/English)

Appropriate CA Child Development permit (12 ECE units) required (minimum)

First Aide/CPR Certified preferred

Valid Driver’s license, as driving may be a requirement of the position

COMPENSATION:

$10-12/hr, DOE.  Rate of pay will be commensurate and competitive with experience and qualifications.   Benefits provided for full time positions.
