TURLOCK UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT JOB CLASSIFICATION TITLE: Campus Supervisor-Elementary Range 7.5 DEFINITION: Under direction of appropriate site administrator at an elementary site, supervises and counsels pupils who are out of class; alerts school officials to the presence of outsiders on campus; directs unauthorized persons to depart and not return, and performs other related work as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Supervises campus and students during school hours; performs restroom checks for loitering or other inappropriate behaviors. 2. Reports potential disruptions or dangers to supervisor; warns unauthorized persons not to loiter on or about campus and orders such persons to depart and not return. 3. Assists with the following duties as assigned: playground, bus, bicycle area, crossing guard; and performs other related work as required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions: • This type of work will involve walking or standing for extended periods. • Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate food service equipment, and handle work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job. • Stooping, squatting, kneeling, overhead reaching and repetitive bending may be involved frequently with this position. • Persons performing service in this position classification will be exposed to outdoor conditions including, but not limited to, extreme temperature; equipment and objects related to the position. • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable a person with a disability to perform the essential functions of the job. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: • Operate equipment according to established safety procedures. • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, pushing and pulling. • Use provided safety equipment. • Report any unsafe conditions in work area that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: • District and school rules and regulations. • Basic methods of individual and group supervision. • Skills utilized to maintain positive relationships with students and adults. • Take and pass First Aid and CPR classes provided by the District. Ability to: • Work cooperatively with students, staff and parents. • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. • Be able to effectively use or learn how to effectively use district computers. EXPERIENCE: • A displayed interest in youth. EDUCATION: • High school graduate or equivalent; preferably some college training. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: • Fingerprint clearance • TB clearance • Pre-employment physical 06/09
