
Noon Supervisor at San Ysidro School District

Under the direction of the school principal, the noon supervisor is assigned to help establish and maintain a calm and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria and to help establish and maintain a program of noon playground supervision which promotes harmonious group and individual activities.
These responsibilities are representative of the duties associated with this position.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Supervises an assigned area as designated by the principal;
2.Organizes students into orderly lines for purchasing food, and sees that they go to assigned tables;
3.Organizes students for orderly disposal of food waste, trays, and utensils;
4.Organizes groups for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria;
5.Circulates among the tables during the lunch period so as to be available to help children who need help and to resolve minor problems that arise;
6.Directs movement of groups to and from the playground;
7.Supervises students on the playground and remains alert to conditions of safety and playground equipment;
8.Informs the principal or designee immediately of any serious infractions of school rules and regulations.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
1.Ability to learn and implement applicable school rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
2.Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students and staff; in English and Spanish.
3.Ability to analyze situations likely to be encountered while on supervision duty;
4.Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
5.Possess a working knowledge of English.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
1. Any combination equivalent to completion of a basic and experience in working with groups of children.
