Ocean Charter School is a Public Waldorf School and the Kindergarten uses a play-based approach to integrate common core standards. We are accepting applications for Kindergarten Assistant position. The Kindergarten Assistant position required lots of physical activity, including baking, cooking, washing dishes, sweeping, tidying, running, jumping, skipping, bending, and the possibility of lifting upwards of 50 pounds. The Kindergarten Assistant completes his/her work in the background, while the lead teacher is the primary “ego presence” and voice in the classroom.
Applicants must be reliable and punctual, have experience with conflict resolution, young children, special needs students, and have high level communication and management skills.

We are accepting applications for a one-year Kindergarten Assistant position for the 2016-2017 school year. The ideal candidate is Waldorf certified, holds a clear multiple subject teaching credential and would potentially transition into a lead teaching position as a grades teacher in the 2017-2018 school year. This position is a wonderful opportunity for a teacher candidate to become immersed in Waldorf pedagogy, including storytelling, singing, recitation, movement, watercolor painting, beeswax modeling and drawing. The Kindergarten is a joyous place to be and is rich with seasonal festivals!
