Requirements / Qualifications
Required Experience must be in a public school setting: • Eight years of successful full-time public school district certificated service • A minimum of three years of experience as a teacher in a K-12 program • A minimum of two years of experience in an elementary school • Two years of service in a position that required and utilized an administrative credential, such as assistant principal or equivalent position Minimum Requirements include: All minimum requirements must be met on or before the filing deadline. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that documentation of minimum requirements is on file with the Human Resources Administrative Selection Unit. Saturn Street is a neighborhood school and an active part of the larger Fairfax Community of Schools in Local District West. Saturn Street Elementary and Saturn Street Arts and Media Magnet serves over 343 students in grades ETK-5 including a Resource Specialist program, Preschool for All Learners (PAL), Preschool Collaborative Classroom (PCC), AUT-Core classes, and Specific Learning Disability (SLD) class. In addition, Saturn Street has an Arts and Media Magnet for grades K-5. Saturn Street Elementary School engages families, partners and the community in building a learning environment for a culturally diverse population.
