Teacher Role Summary: Teachers at Anahuacalmecac International University Preparatory of North America (AIUPNA) are responsible for creating a digitally-progressive and indigenous CULTURALLY-ROOTED learning environment where students can demonstrate thoughtful and ethical behavior and ensure that the values and principles of the IB learner profile are at the heart of learning and relationships in the school. Teachers will have the flexibility to teach across IBMYP and AIUPNA courses in one or more subject areas, where applicable. They will support the personal and academic development of students in their advisory group and contribute to extra-curricular and community and service activities. The following list serves to illustrate the scope and responsibilities of the post and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties. You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the development of this role as the practice develops, and the overall educational objectives of the practice change. Teachers must be prepared to teach in an urban inner-city context with working class, indigenous, migrant families and teachers. IDEAL CANDIDATE: This position requires a highly motivated, responsible, organized, and self-starter individual who can handle an array of tasks and who works well independently and as part of a small team. The individual must be able to able to come up with multiple solutions to any given problem in areas that might be outside their expertise and be willing to take on uncertain challenges. The individual must be able to work alone for an entire day in a remote area.
