Requirements / Qualifications
Required Experience must be in a public school setting: Eight years of successful full-time public school district certificated service A minimum of three years experience as a teacher in a K-12 program A minimum of two years experience in an elementary instructional program grades Pre K through 6 And one of the following: A minimum of one year of service in an administrative or supervisory position utilizing an administrative credential A minimum of one year of experience in a school based assistant principal level position Three years verifiable full-time experience in a school based leadership non-classroom assignment, such as coordinator, instructional coach, or dean Other minimum requirements include: A valid California teaching credential requiring a Bachelor's degree and a program of professional preparation, including student teaching A valid California Administrative Services Credential Master’s degree from an accredited college or university Multicultural coursework* District Master Plan requirements* *Candidates have one year to complete this requirement.

Allesandro Elementary Cooperative Learning Magnet currently serves 500 students in Pre-K through 6th grade, which includes grades 1-6. Of our total enrollment, 90% of the students are Economically Disadvantaged; and 85% are Latino and speak Spanish as a first language, whereas 20% of the Latino students are classified as English Learners. The rest of the student population consists of 5% Filipino, 1% each of African American, Asian, white, Pacific Islander and American Indian. Of our total population, 10% of our students receive Special Education Services.
The Ideal Candidate will be a multi-tasker; possess a strong instructional focus; have a commitment to working collaboratively with all stakeholders; be an effective communicator with strong listening and interpersonal skills; have strong planning and creative problem solving abilities; successful experiences with school operations and budget preparations and planning; have the desire to build strong parent and community partnerships; the ability to embrace a very active parent population; be able to create and maintain ties to community organizations, and be a consensus builder; value the arts and inquiry-based learning and be able to align the school vision with the District priorities and policies; bilingual Spanish desired, but not required.
