MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit OR Valid CA Teaching Credential DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Successful substitute teaching experience. Experience with students of differing cultural backgrounds/learning styles.

Credential Copy (Valid California Teaching Credential or Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit) Copy of transcripts of bachelor's degree Letter of Introduction Resume Letter(s) of Recommendation Copy of verification of basic skills requirement (CBEST, CSET, CSU EAP Placement Tests, SAT or ACT).

          DESCRIPTION Substitute Educators for San Mateo Adult School serve as day-to-day substitutes to adult learners during their regular teacher's absence. The Adult School, one of the largest and most productive in the Bay Area, typically enrolls upwards of 8,000 individuals aged 18 and over. The Adult School includes the largest program for those learning English in San Mateo County offering English as a Second Language class's mornings (9:00-12:00pm), afternoons (12:30-3:30pm) and evenings (6:30-9:30pm) as well as General Education Development (GED) and High School Diploma classes.
