Welcome to the Whittier City School District, a Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade school district with eight elementary schools, two middle schools, one K-8 school, and two virtual learning academies. We serve approximately 6,300 students who matriculate into the Whittier Union High School District.   • DUTIES
  • Responsible for an assigned group of students
  • Responsible for designing, planning and facilitating enrichment activities
  • Responsible for general supervision of assigned students during snack time, homework, recreation and all transition periods
  • Assists After School Program Intervention teachers
  • Also responsible for attending all staff meetings, workshops, trainings and fieldtrips (a Saturday may be required)
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.
  • Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • This type of work involves sitting little of the time, and may involve running, walking or standing for brief periods.
  • Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.

    The Group Leader II is responsible for an assigned group of students. Responsibilities will include carrying out planned enrichment activities. You will be responsible for the students during snack time, homework, recreation and all transition periods. The Group Leader II may also be responsible for attending all staff meetings, workshops, trainings and field trips (a Saturday may be required).

    • Completed application, Letter of Interest, resume, Proof of High School Graduation/GED, AND proof of minimum requirements for NCLB (No Child Left Behind), 48 semester college units and high school graduation (copies are okay for application submission). Current WCSD employees must submit updated resume, letter of interest and have NCLB proof on file in Human Resources office. • YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED ONLY IF CLEARLY INDICATES THAT THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE MET
