Overview
We are seeking an innovative and qualified K-8 teacher to serve our students & parents in this small community school located in the foothills east of Redding. We believe in learning for all – no limits, no excuses, & unlimited possibilities! You will be team-teaching with a hardworking and enthusiastic teaching professional. Together you will continue to learn developing a sound understanding of the common core while individualizing, guiding students as they grow, constantly showing them they are cared for, making special memories for them that are magical, memorable, and motivating them to make a difference in the lives of others and teaching them to love life. Likewise you will support alternative & independent learning, advising and helping parents who chose to teach their child at home.
Essential Elements:
Engages and supports all students in learning, monitoring and adjusting instruction while teaching. Believes and treats parents as partners in student learning. Can create effective learning environments that promote student learning, reflect diversity & individuality, while encouraging constructive and productive interactions among students. Understands and can organize Common Core Curriculum using and adapting resources, technologies, and standards-aligned materials. Can plan alternative and individualized instruction. Is a flexible, creative, and a team player. Plans and uses a variety of assessments to measure learning. Constantly reflects and improves his/her instructional practices. Demonstrates respect for students and their parents. Creates a sense of community and belonging to the classroom, school, and community. Is warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring. Sets high expectations for all students and then provides the support to achieve them. Inspires students to be skilled leaders. Is willing to constantly collaborate with colleagues and parents. Is a professional in all areas from appearance to organizational skills and preparedness for each day.
Experiences & Skills Preferred
K-8 Teaching Experience, Middle School Expertise (math), Independent Study, Ability to Individualize & Work Collaboratively, Uses Technology as a tool to motivate, learn, explore, communicate and control time.
