Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Novato, California is seeking a dynamic Preschool Director to join our outstanding Preschool through 8th grade faculty. The ideal candidate will bring an inspired, forward-thinking vision to all aspects of our preschool program. The Good Shepherd Preschool Director is a strong leader who stands for the ideas and values that help to develop globally competent citizens, and serves as a steward for staff, student & parent learning. The Director provides a clear vision, inspiration, energy and insight for all stakeholders in an enlightening and high functioning school community. Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool has a forty year history in the community, and a critical focus of the role will be to continue to foster the growth of our excellent program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee NAEYC accredited, licensed childcare center and ensure all licensing requirements are met, including staffing ratios and health and safety regulations.
• Promote the school in community events and tours
• Partner with early intervention and other service providers to ensure student needs are met
• Lead, observe, inspire, coach, and provide regular critical feedback to the faculty.
• Be visible and accessible to families and staff in all areas of the school.
• Effectively articulate the school’s programs, initiatives, and expectations for all constituents (faculty, students, parents).
• Serve on the senior leadership team of the school.
• Play an essential role in designing and maintaining the preschool-12 continuum.
Requirements:
• Master's Degree preferred, minimum 15 ECE units required
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Health and Safety Training required
• Significant experience in academic leadership
• A proven track record of successful partnership with families
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Must support Christian education in word, practice, and leadership
