School Total Education Solutions (TES) is the leading national provider of outsourced special education compliance and staffing solutions to public education agencies. TES currently provides compliance and staffing solutions to over 200 public and charter school sites, representing 70 school districts and 35 Special Education Governing Entities. Provide services to our clients in the Los Angeles region. Number of hours will vary and are flexible: Must hold a valid California Credential authorizing service in school psychology. Shall conduct psychological evaluations of students; prepare recommendations regarding the education and placement of students; assist in the development of special instructional programs; provide in-services; counsel parents; prepare and submit documents for county mental health referrals; maintain relationships and liaison between agencies. This is a full-time or part-time position in non-exempt status.
General Description: A School Counselor provides small group and one-on-one counseling to students in need of additional support. School Counselors will work primarily with students whose Individual Education Plans include counseling, but may also assist general education students as needed. A School Counselor will communicate on-going student progress to parents/guardians, general education teachers, school administration, district personnel and other service professionals via progress reporting and Individual Education Plans. The School Counselor is responsible for maintaining on-going compliance in accordance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
