Guest Teacher
Position Description:
Guest Teacher available to work as a day-to-day certificated substitute when so requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Valid Washington State teaching certificate or substitute certificate.
2. Demonstrated successful K-12 teaching and/or substituting experience preferred.
3. Ability to adapt to a variety of assignments and teaching positions.
4. A commitment to learn and implement research-based strategies for teaching and learning.
5. Demonstrated dependable work history.
6. Demonstrated experience in implementing a prescribed curriculum and appropriate use of adopted methods and materials.
7. Flexibility in learning new concepts.
8. Demonstrated knowledge of new technologies and ability to incorporate these into instructional programs.
9. Demonstrated effective classroom management.
10. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents.
11. Demonstrated compatibility with staff, program, and school goals.
12. Commitment to fostering a positive attitude.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Implement lesson plans designated by the teacher.
2. Confirm placement assignment daily.
3. Implement appropriate education programs for students with disabilities within the classroom environment in collaboration with support staff.
4. Provide positive assistance and guidance to a diverse student population.
5. Maintain student records including daily grades, attendance, and lesson plan as requested by the teacher.
6. Participate in total building program, including assemblies, contests and other student activities.
7. Work cooperatively with all staff in an atmosphere of cooperation and collegiality.
8. Comply with applicable state laws and district policies and directives.
9. Uphold and assist in enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policy.
10. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
11. Requires the use of multiple communication and technology systems, which may include electronic mail, computers, document cameras, smart boards, and web-based resources.
12. Effectively maintain and communicate student progress using formative and summative assessments based on current state standards in accordance with district reporting timelines.
13. Other tasks as requested.

All new employees must complete a satisfactory fingerprint check with the Washington State Patrol and the FBI. All employment is considered conditional until receipt of the satisfactory background check.
