Afterschool Instructional Assistant (IA) Job Description (Part-Time)

Capitol Collegiate Academy is a K-8, college-preparatory, tuition-free public charter school in Sacramento, an incredibly diverse area of the city representing over many nationalities, cultures, languages, and backgrounds. Our school was founded by a diverse group of Sacramento leaders representing a variety of professional backgrounds who share the firm belief that we must expand educational opportunities for students from low-income communities.

Capitol Collegiate Academy prepares students in kindergarten through grade eight to compete, achieve, and lead in high school, in college, and in life. We are founded on the firm belief that all students, regardless of race, language, or socio-economic status, are entitle to a high quality education.

Capitol Collegiate’s program is designed after the core elements seen in the highest-performing urban charter schools in the country: rigor, structure, and support. We operate with an extended school day (7:30-3:30) as well as an extended school year.  We also recognize that teaching is the biggest lever in student achievement, therefore offering extensive professional development: 30 full days, 2.5 hours every Wednesday, and additional individualized support on a daily basis.
