Mentors for Clear Admin Program interested in working in northern Kern, Kings, Tulare and Fresno counties in the Southern San Joaquin Valley. Mentor selection criteria include: • A Clear Administrative Service Credential; • A minimum of five years of successful administrative experience as verified by a recommendation from the Superintendent or direct supervisor; • A minimum of two years of successful experience in an area relevant to the potential candidate; • A commitment to work collaboratively with a candidate for a minimum of three hours of direct coaching per month over the course of two consecutive years; • Be available to provide additional support in crisis situations; • Willingness to participate in professional training to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to be an effective and successful mentor. Mentor qualifications include the following: • Knowledge and experiences that illustrate an understanding of continuous improvement and accountability processes; • Experience and results working in districts of diverse populations; • Knowledge and experiences that illustrate an understanding of California Common Core State Standards, the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSELs), and Descriptors of Practice (DOP); • Knowledge of adult learning theory and learning development, associated with effective interpersonal communication skills; • Knowledge of formative assessment and mentoring processes; • Knowledge and experience with matters of equity, rigor, and relevance and who span multiple administrative experiences (urban, suburban, rural and countywide).

Clear Admin Mentor Job Description: 1. Meets and supports candidate/s through direct coaching/mentoring as appropriate based upon the level of need of each respective individual, cluster (small group), or large group assigned by program leadership. In addition, the mentor/instructor will also provide additional time as needed in order to meet the needs of candidate/s. 2. Utilizes the assessment measures to help guide the candidate’s professional leadership development needs to assure levels of support align accordingly. 3. Facilitates development areas identified by candidate needs as outlined by the Program Administrator and/or Coordinator based upon needs’ assessments and inventories to individuals, clusters (small group/s), or large group as assigned by program leadership. 4. Holds regular conferences with the candidate regarding experiences and assists the candidate in making connections to the CPSELS. 5. Provides opportunities and experiences for the candidate to apply and reflect upon the activities identified in their Individual Induction Plan/Learning Plan. 6. Assists in the supervision of individualized mentoring plans/projects as identified by the Program Administrator and/or Coordinator.

Utilizes and adheres to the provisions and assessment measures outlined by the Tulare County Office of Education iLead Clear Administrative Services Credential Program in order to best support candidate/s leadership needs. Model and practice the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSELs). 11. Agrees and understands that if candidate/s needs require a level of support outside area of expertise or ability to align resources to support such need, I am to immediately inform program leadership to seek additional professional resources. 12. Carries out any other duties commensurate to candidate support regarding the CPSELS and areas of need. 13. Completes program and candidate documentation, as necessary and appropriate, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
