Brief Description
This recruitment is being conducted to establish a list of eligible candidates that will be used to fill current and upcoming vacancies for the duration of the list, not to exceed one year. The immediate vacancy is a 12 month, 100% position at Moorpark College.
Under the general direction of an assigned supervisor, plan, organize, coordinate, and perform a variety of warehouse functions in support of campus operations.
Job Duties
Plan, organize, coordinate, and perform warehouse operations, including the receipt, inspection, processing, storing, and issuing of materials and layout of warehouse storage areas and shelf arrangements, to ensure it is maintained in a clean, orderly, and safe manner. E
Analyze space usage for maximum utilization; coordinate with the purchasing department as needed to determine storage space requirements and optimum stock quantities; plan, coordinate, and perform stock rotation; maintain adequate stock levels and order stock according to established guidelines. E
Coordinate and perform warehouse and physical plant inventories; use a computer and electronic interface device to develop and maintain an inventory tracking system and input and maintain data such as the description, location, condition, and total value of warehouse and physical plant inventory using methods prescribed by accounting personnel. E
Plan, prioritize, schedule, and perform the routine and special delivery and pick-up of mail, materials, supplies, and equipment, both on-site and off-site; adjust mail routes and schedules as needed; load and unload trucks. E
Receive, unload, and inspect shipments for damage and compliance with purchase order specifications, packing slips, and safety standards; report and investigate problems and discrepancies and contact appropriate parties to resolve shortages, damaged goods, and other problems; prepare and weigh damaged, excess, and incorrect items and return to vendors. E
Arrange and store items in the appropriate section of the warehouse or assigned facility; mark and label materials and equipment for identification purposes. E
Wrap, pack, load and prepare items for shipment and delivery; receive, fill, and process purchase orders; pull, pack, sort, and ship items to various locations; prepare related forms, labels, and bills. E
Oversee and coordinate the scheduled maintenance of college vehicles; receive and log vehicle reservations; schedule maintenance and repair work to ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition; fuel vehicles and order fuel when needed; maintain related records. E
Prepare, submit, and maintain a variety of records, logs, and reports related to warehouse operations including purchase orders, shipping/receiving records, inventory and equipment records, and emergency orders; input receiving and purchase order data into computer system and maintain related computerized records. E
Act as liaison to the district administrative center, vendors, and others to exchange information and resolve issues pertaining to warehouse operations. E
Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles including trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, electric carts, hand carts, dollies, and various hand and power tools. E
Move, transfer, and deliver furniture and equipment and assist in set-ups for a variety of activities held at the college including seminars, meetings, and other events. E
Provide training and work direction to assigned staff and student workers. E

Minimum Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency and three years of experience shipping, receiving, and stocking items and conducting inventory and record keeping in a warehouse, including one year of experience coordinating warehouse operations.

Required Selection Process
EXAMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS:
This is an examination open to the public and current district employees seeking a promotional opportunity. To ensure consideration, please submit your application materials by October 2, 2015.
The examination process will consist of any of the following components:
A) Evaluation of Training and Experience (T&E) = Qualifying (pass/fail)
B) Technical Interview = 100% weighting on final score
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications stated by the filing deadline in order to move forward in the testing process. Those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will have their application materials reviewed during a Training and Experience Evaluation (T&E). A T&E is an assessment of training and experience that has prepared the candidate for the position. Those with the highest scores on the T&E will be invited to the technical interview. The examination process is subject to change as needs dictate. All communication regarding this process will be delivered via email.

Salary Range
$3,936.00 - $5,426.00
Starting Salary
$3,936.00 - $5,426.00 - Employees shall be placed on the appropriate step of the salary range based on directly related education and experience that exceeds the minimum qualifications for the classification. Salary placement is subject to verification of qualifying education and experience and applicable collective bargaining agreements and/or Personnel Commission rules.

Evaluation of minimum qualifications will be based solely on the information provided in your application. Therefore, please make sure you include ALL employment you wish to be considered in the Employment Experience section of the application and complete ALL fields. Experience that is included in the resume but not in the Employment Experience section of the application will not be considered.
The VCCCD does not accept letters of recommendation. Please do not attempt to attach letters of recommendation to your application.
ELIGIBILITY LIST:
Upon completion of the examination, the open / promotional eligibility list will be compiled by combining the final examination score with applicable seniority and veteran's credits, if any. The candidates will be ranked according to their total score on the eligibility list. Certification will be made from the highest three ranks of the eligibility list. This eligibility list will be used to fill the current vacancies up to one year from the date of the technical interview.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
All appointments made from eligibility lists for initial appointment or for promotion shall be probationary for a period of six (6) months or one hundred thirty (130) days of paid service whichever is longer.
