This is a non-exclusive arrangement. The teachers work as independent contractors. No deductions of any kind, including those for unemployment insurance, disability insurance, or social security, are made from your invoice payments. We issue 1099’s to tutors who receive invoice payments – you will be required to pay self-employment taxes according to the rules of IRS and the State of California.
