Requirements / Qualifications
Required Experience must be in a public school setting: • Eight years of successful full-time public school certificated service • Three years of experience as a teacher in a K-12 public school program • Two years of experience at a middle or senior high school • One year of service in an administrative or supervisory position utilizing an administrative credential, such as assistant principal or equivalent position Minimum Requirements include: • A valid California teaching credential requiring a Bachelor's degree and a program of professional preparation, including student teaching • A valid California Administrative Services Credential • Multicultural coursework* • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university • District Master Plan requirements* *Out-of-District candidates have one year to complete this requirement
Nightingale Middle School is a single track, Title I school serving over 750 students; 70% Latino, 29% Asian, and 17% Students with Disabilities. The school is located at 3311 North Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90065. The Ideal Candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholder groups; have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; be a strong instructional leader who will focus on academic achievement and continuous improvement; be an exceptional educator who can articulate the school’s vision; use data to guide academic decision making; and develop collaborative parent and community partnerships. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a working knowledge and experience with the new EL Master Plan, Educator Development and Support (EDS), and Common Core State Standards. The candidate should also have experience facilitating professional development and stakeholder meetings focused on supporting student achievement.
