Part-Time Enrollment Coordinator 2015-2016
Leadership Public Schools Richmond is hiring an exceptional person to lead our outreach and recruitment efforts that result in enrolling a diverse freshmen class of 150 students.
LPS Richmond’s mission is to prepare low income students of color to succeed in college and to become leaders in their communities. The school serves a population that is 98% Free and Reduced Price Lunch and 98% first generation college bound. US News and World Report recently recognized LPS Richmond as being in the top one percent of high schools nationwide.
The Enrollment Coordinator responsibilities include:
? Implement an outreach plan designed to recruit and attract a student body that is representative of the demographics of Richmond
? Manage the Enrollment team, including parents, teachers and students, designed to attract a diverse student body
? Coordinate outreach and recruitment events, such as evening enrollment information sessions for interested families and Student Shadow Day
? Organize and lead the enrollment lottery, including communication leading up to the evening, training of staff, and overseeing the lottery itself
? Manage the entire application process, from collecting interest forms, preliminary applications, the full application as well as communicating with families via mail, phone, and e-mail in a responsive and timely manner
? Track, organize, and monitor enrollment application paperwork
? Manage the assessment of the incoming 9th grade students to ensure proper course placement, including the MAP, SRI, Spanish and math placement testing
? Coordinate Freshman Home Visits student and staff schedule
? Coordinate with the Dean of Students to plan the Spring and Summer Orientations
? Coordinate with the Dean of Students to plan the logistics of summer Freshman Retreat
? Manage the 9th and 10th grade student waiting lists and the admittance of students throughout the school year
? Provide daily office support including answering phones, greeting families
? Fulfill other duties as needed in order to best serve our students and school
LPS Richmond is seeking a candidate with:
? A 4-year college degree
? Demonstrated commitment to college access and persistence
? The ability to build strong relationships with students and families
? Experience with program development and management
? A commitment to working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families
? A record of effective leadership
? A record of attention to detail
? Experience working in an urban school setting
? A strong belief in the ability of all learners to succeed and go to college
? Comfort in the charter setting
? The ability to speak Spanish is beneficial
