POSITION DESCRIPTION
Working under the CTE Director, will be responsible to plan, implement, and evaluate learning activities in the Intro to Writing class. This course is designed to assist the adult learner gain the prerequisite writing skills to be successful in either a high school English class, GED preparation class or CAHSEE preparation class. Students review and receive instruction in writing strategies, applications, written and oral English Language conventions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Provide training necessary for entry level employment in the related field.
•Maintain records related to student performance and attendance.
•Perform related duties as assigned.
•Maintain current information on and awareness of industry standards for subject area.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Credentials and experience:
•Appropriate Designated Subjects Credential or eligibility for appropriate Designated Subjects Credential.
•For verification of eligibility, the following must be submitted with application:
oVerify five years of work experience directly related to each subject. One year equals 1,000 clock hours.
oMay substitute 48 semester units of postsecondary vocational coursework related to the subject for a maximum of two of the five years of work experience.
oAt least one year of the required work experience must be within the three years immediately preceding the issuance of the credential.
•High School Diploma or equivalent.
•Completion of Commission-approved Level I and Level II program will be required.
•Valid Drivers’ License.
•EL Authorization

Knowledge of:
•Correct English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
•Instructional strategies.

Ability to:
•Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
•Establish and maintain effective relationships with persons contacted in the course of work.
•Prepare reports and maintain records.
•Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
