Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: • At least five (5) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than three (3) years of which must have been in a position(s) working directly and primarily with students with disabilities • A valid California Administrative Services Credential (Out-of-state applicants must qualify for and obtain a California credential prior to selection approval.) • A valid California Education Specialist Credential OR a valid California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential with an authorization in Visual Impairments or Orientation & Mobility • An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university • Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework* • Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and must be able to provide verification of vaccination status as part of the hiring and onboarding process prior to an official offer of employment to any District site Employees who have been issued a below standard Performance Evaluation, or Notice of Unsatisfactory Act(s) and/or Suspension shall be ineligible for application to any promotion process for one calendar year following the issuance of such a Notice.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director, Special Education Related Services or their designee, the duties include, but are not limited, to:
• Assists in coordinating the functions, the formulation of practices and procedures, and services of the Visual Services Program in cooperation with other District personnel, school site administrators, and teachers
• Assists in formulating IMA budget and manages inventory, procurement, delivery, and use of low incidence program equipment and supplies
• Supervises and evaluates certificated teachers of the visually impaired (TVI) and orientation and mobility instructors (O&M), as well as classified itinerant staff within the Visual Services Program
• Leads the programming of visual services supports and services including the evaluation, selection, and effective use of low incidence program instructional materials, equipment, and supplies
• Assists in the development and implementation of integrated participation opportunities for students with visual impairment
• Provides professional development for program personnel and District-wide education on visual services supports
• Plans for the continuous evaluation and improvement of visual impairment services through the review and analysis of current trends, literature, and research studies
• Assists with the supervision of data collection, Welligent documentation, and preparation of reports and rosters pertaining to Visual Services Program supports and services
• Provides staff with appropriate information regarding visual impairment to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
• Serves as a resource for due process related to visual services
• Supervises and evaluates certificated and classified staff
• Performs other duties as assigned
