ASSIGNMENT

Applications for Part-Time Instructors are always being accepted for assignments at the Barstow campus as well as teaching on-line and at off-campus sites located at Fort Irwin. Assignments are at the discretion of the District.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics OR bachelor’s degree in physics or astronomy AND master’s degree in engineering, mathematics, meteorology, or geophysics OR the equivalent.

Demonstrated proficiency in teaching at the community college level.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse, academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

SALARY

The hourly rate for part-time faculty is $42, $44, or $46.

Placement on the salary schedule is commensurate with academic preparation and experience at the community college level.
