Epiphany Prep Charter School (“Epiphany Prep”) seeks to hire an exceptional academic leader (“Principal”) to begin as early as July 2015. Epiphany Prep operates a K-8 high performing values-based charter school in San Diego for socio-economically disadvantaged children. It seeks to open its second charter school in 2016 in the Escondido Union School District. The Principal shall spend a year working under our accomplished Principal in a Principal-In-Training type of position with the probability of becoming the Principal at one of Epiphany Prep’s charter schools. The Principal shall sustain a safe, highly effective and well-organized educational environment that welcomes a close working relationship with all school-wide constituencies (i.e., parents/guardians, students, faculty/staff, administrators, partners and governance team members). In alignment with Epiphany Prep’s mission, goals, and standards, the Principal’s general functions are to assist the faculty in accomplishing the academic goals and demonstrating exceptional leadership in coordinating and monitoring the outcomes and day-to-day programmatic functions of the school. TIMELINE: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, anticipated start date in July. OUTCOMES: The major outcomes of this position include: • Team: Influence the founding leadership team of an inner-city college prep school; • Vision: Become well versed in establishing, developing and leading a high performing charter school; and • Design: Integrate the best practices of nationally successful programs into a sustainable inner-city model.
