DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Technology Training Specialist provides assistance to Chino Valley Unified School District’s personnel with integration of technology into the curriculum. Primary responsibilities include training staff in the use of electronic resources on the Internet, support of standards-based classroom instruction, and access to electronic information. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides professional development experiences to district staff in computer labs and a variety of classroom and other settings throughout the district. Assist educators in the integration of media and technology within the context of teaching and learning. Develop and present workshops integrating the use of a broad base of information resources into teaching and learning activities, supporting grade level standards. Assist staff in accessing electronic information, both locally and worldwide. Assist in developing models of curriculum and instruction using technology that is fully integrated into grade level standards. Provide direct technical assistance to sites. Provide professional development in software applications. Training of all district personnel in the use and exploration of technology, including both individualized and group training throughout the district on a flexible schedule; troubleshooting teacher and staff computer problems with both stand-alone and networked machines; development and use of training materials for presentations to district staff in group training sessions, and in response to school needs; and, ability to make recommendations of hardware and software based on instructional needs. REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of English grammar, syntax, punctuation, and spelling. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal contexts. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License. Experience of at least three (3) years in education. Experience in professional development, planning, and scheduling. Experience with integrating technology in support of grade level standards. Experience in accessing information resources on the Internet. Ability to resolve technical problems. QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications: Extensive experience in offering and planning professional development. Experience in training applications for MacIntosh and Windows operating environments. Experience in the utilization of a variety of electronic resources and multi-media technologies for classroom and professional development activities. Broad range of teaching experience in K-12. A valid California Teaching Credential. Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience. Ability to effectively work with people. People skills necessary to successfully accomplish the duties described above. NOTE: The Technology Training Specialist may work a year-round or traditional schedule as required.
