BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of Site Principal and the Principal's designee, to work with young men and women in a flexible program exemplifying high performance qualities. QUALIFICATIONS: Be able to demonstrate competency in the sport. Have the ability to work within a diversified and meaningful program. Have previous background sufficient to warrant a leadership role within a character-building program. Emphasize good sportsmanship, academic excellence, positive attitude and character. Have ability to work effectively with students, parent groups and the general public. Must be knowledgeable and competent in first aid and emergency procedures (valid American Red Cross first aid card and American Heart Association, or other authorizing agency, CPR card, California Athletic Trainer Certificate), coaching techniques, rules and regulations, and psychology as it relates to sports participation. Must complete mandatory CIF Coaching Principles training or provide verification of completion. Must complete mandatory Concussion Training and provide verification of completion. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of all Education Code and Title 5, California Code of Regulations requirements for coaching eligibility. Completion of Concussion Training. Possession of a valid California driver license. EXPERIENCE: Previous coaching experience within the last five years is required.
