Our district educates approximately 10,500 students (representing 50 languages) in preschool through eighth grades in 22 outstanding schools. Our family of schools includes three middle schools (Grades 6–8), fifteen elementary schools (TK/K–5), three schools with all grades (K–8), and one Early Education Center. We also have preschools co-located at our six elementary sites. We have various theme based schools: Montessori, Immersion (Spanish and Mandarin), and STEM. ACHIEVEMENT GOAL: Create learning opportunities for ALL Pre-K through 8th students resulting in closing the achievement gap and culminating in personal and academic success in high school and beyond. Corner of Swordfish & Haddock (Bowditch Middle School) Hours: Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri 7:55am-8:25am AND 2:55pm-3:25pm AND Wed 7:55am-8:25am AND 12:55pm-1:25pm Corner of El Camino and Barneson in San Mateo (Borel Middle School) Hours: Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri 2:45pm-3:00pm AND Wed 12:45pm-1:15pm Corner of Polynesian and Niantic in Foster City (Brewer Island School) Hours: Mon-Fri 7:45am-8:30am AND M, T, Th, F 2:30pm-3:05pm AND Wed 12:00pm-12:55pm Corner of Poplar and Humboldt in San Mateo (College Park School area, 3 hours a day) Corner at Bunker Hill Ave in San Mateo (Highlands School area) Hours: M-F 7:45am-8:15am, 2:30pm-3:15pm (2 hour minimum) Corner of Norfolk and Halsey in San Mateo (Parkside School) Hours: M-F 7:45am-8:30am, 2:30pm-3:20pm AND Wed 12:15pm-1:00pm To apply: You may apply on line through edjoin.org or you can complete a district application and mail to address at the top of the application (You can download an application from www.smfcsd.net; click on "employment" then click on "classified" and print out the classified application). The district serves a total population of over 100,000 in the cities of San Mateo and Foster City. The district is located on the San Francisco peninsula, 19 miles south of San Francisco just north of the Silicon Valley. Its mild climate and ideal location make it an attractive place in which to live and work.
