Seneca Family of Agencies is seeking a full-time Behavioral Intervention Specialist for the All-In! Partnership Project which provides highly individualized support to students attending charter and public schools in the San Francisco area. At our school programs, Seneca seamlessly interweaves special education services with rich therapeutic and behavioral supports. It is our goal to provide an enriching and successful environment where students’ strengths are celebrated and their needs addressed with a variety of targeted interventions.  

Our school-based services are highly individualized for each student, and parents and other family members are enlisted as partners in designing and implementing the education and treatment plans for their child.
 
The Behavioral Intervention Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of behavioral plans for students based on thorough assessments. Behavioral Intervention Specialists follow ABA and PENT best practices in order to remain compliant with special education law. Additionally, the Specialist coordinates services at the school sites and provides coaching, modeling and development opportunities to school staff. 

Summary:

  • Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to plan, manage and supervise students’ behavioral plans
  • Conduct comprehensive Functional Analysis Assessments (FAAs) and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and write legal defensive effective behavioral analysis reports
  • Develop Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs) and Behavioral Intervention Plans
  • Form consultation relationships with school staff, including general and special educators and school leadership
  • Train, direct and monitor the work of teachers and classified staff to assist students with behavioral challenges.
  • Provide direct interventions to students as appropriate
  • Engage families in the treatment planning process
  • Participate in professional learning communities to enhance practice and create coherence
  • Sustain a high standard of professional behavior at all times
  • Perform all other duties as necessary for the good of the agency as instructed by supervisor 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services/Social Work/Psychology/Counseling or related field
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • At least three years experience in working with children with emotional behavioral disabilities and/or who exhibit extremely challenging behaviors and their families, preferred
  • Experience providing crisis assessment, management, and interventions, preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work independently in the office, at school sites, and at times in the community
  • Valid California driver’s license and insurance
  • Insurable by Seneca’s automobile policy
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certifications requirements 

Hours:

  • Full time
