Summary Description 
The Tutorial Center Coordinator oversees the operation of the College Tutoring Center. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, scheduling and evaluating tutors; working with faculty to offer instructional support programs; evaluating tutoring programs to identify and implement needed improvements; and motivating and providing leadership to tutoring department staff and students.

Examples of Duties 
• Oversee the recruiting, hiring, training, supervision, scheduling and evaluation of tutors.
• Work with multiple campus entities to offer instructional support programs, such as supplemental instruction
• Evaluate programs on a regular basis to identify and implement needed improvements, using data to guide decisions
• Motivate and provide leadership to tutoring department staff and students.
• Lead the tutoring center in its annual planning and program review process.
• Serve as faculty content expert resource for tutors
• Coordinate and oversee summer bridge programs (e.g.“Left Lane”).
• Participate in campus shared governance committees.
• Serve as a faculty expert in instructional support on campus

Minimum Requirements 
(a) The minimum qualifications to teach any Master’s level discipline in which learning assistance or tutoring is provided at the college where the coordinator is employed;
OR
(b) A Master’s degree in education, educational psychology, or instructional psychology, or other Master’s degree with emphasis in adult learning theory.
AND
Demonstrated sensitivity to, understanding of, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, religious, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desired Qualifications 
• Minimum of two (2) years overseeing tutoring at the post-secondary level
• Ability to work well with multiple campus constituencies to determine and provide effective tutoring
• An understanding of the curriculum creation process
• Experience overseeing targeted student intervention programs
• Experience teaching classes in a subject that is supported in the Tutoring Center
• Experience with basic skills students
• Familiarity with budgets
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with English, reading and math faculty

Working Hours 
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (hours may vary)

Salary and Benefits 
Salary range of $60,333.00 to $97,942.78 per year for 221 days of service, plus family medical, dental, and vision overage and employee life insurance coverage (employee contribution variable depending on plan selected). STRS retirement (employee contributes 8%) and CTA dues of $98.90 per month.
