JOB SUMMARY

 

As the visionary leader of the district, the Principal/Superintendent is charged with overseeing the academic programs of the district; and is responsible to manage and delegate the work of the educational staff, in accordance with all policies, procedures, codes, laws and regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

v  Provide support, leadership, vision and inspiration to the district.

v  Formulate and execute the policies and administrative regulations of the district to ensure the implementation of the district vision in cooperation with the faculty, staff, parents, community and the Governing Board.

v  Ensure the highest quality academic and social experience for students through curriculum development, maintaining qualified and committed teachers and staff, involvement with the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), Student Site Council (SSC), and meeting state standards.

v  Develop and nurture strong collaborative relationships among and between students, parents, faculty, staff and community.

v  Supervise, monitor and evaluate the performance of the teaching staff in accordance with the district’s adopted district-related issues, problems and concerns.

v  Provide input for the budget process in support of the academic program of the district.

v  Attend meetings of the Governing Board, as necessary.

v  Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Butteville Elementary is a rural, one school K-8 district located at the base of Mt. Shasta in Siskiyou County with an enrollment of approximately 200 students.
