Position Summary:
Under general direction of the Director/Dean/Vice President responsible for institutional research and/or planning, designs, conducts, writes, and presents, district research and evaluation studies. Assists in designing and developing database information for decision-making, evaluation and accountability purposes and coordinates research efforts with IT staff. As appropriate, assists in the preparation of grant proposals. Responsibilities:
? Acts as a resource to internal and external customers.
? Analyzes, conceptualizes, and defines problems.
? Assists with gathering and analyzing information and data about district and the colleges and their external environment for strategic planning and program development.
? Assists with the coordination of data collection, including quantitative and qualitative data, and conducts statistical analysis, working with research databases and other appropriate data sources.
? Checks and maintains data integrity and assists with data validation.
? Conducts internal and external research to gather data and accomplish objectives.
? Consults with internal and external clients on projects.
? Advises on methodology and presentation results.
? Coordinates definitions, collection and codification of data elements required for accountability as appropriate.
? Coordinates research efforts with IT personnel as well as external sources.
? Defines data requirements and gathers and validates information, applying judgment and statistical tests.
? Designs a data assurance and validation process, including systematic review and necessary revision.
? Designs sound research methodology to conduct District and college level research studies
? Designs, conducts, and evaluates experimental operational models where insufficient data exists to formulate model
? Designs, coordinates, and conducts special district wide research, evaluation, and accountability studies cooperatively with district/campus personnel, under the general direction of the manager responsible for research and/or planning.
? Designs, implements and monitors indicators that enable the district and colleges to assess their effectiveness.
? Develops and applies time and cost networks to plan and control large projects.
? Develops and maintains website content.
? Documents analytical findings and finalizes results.
? Evaluates implementation and effectiveness of research methodology.
? Makes presentations to internal and external audiences.
? Manages, analyzes and provides input to database information.
? Performs validation and testing of model.
? Prepares announcements, newsletters, and other forms of information regarding research, evaluation and accountability.
? Prepares comprehensive and summary reports, including graphical presentations, and executive summaries for internal and external audiences.
? Prepares management reports defining problem, evaluation, and possible solutions.
? Provides data for grant proposal preparation.
? Provides technical and analytical support to offices, divisions, committees, faculty, administrators and external sources engaged in research related activities.
? Provides training to staff in the use of technical research, and evaluation techniques and materials.
? Specifies statistical methods to be applied to models.
? Studies information and selects plan from competitive proposals that afford maximum probability of effectiveness relating to cost or risk.
? Trains others in the tools and techniques of research.
? Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Two years of primary responsibility for research and planning project design, implementation (including statistical analysis) and written and verbal presentation; experience with preparing grant proposals; and working in an educational research and planning environment and/or classroom teaching experience are desirable.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the social sciences, economics, education, mathematics, statistics, public administration, business administration, or a related field. NOTE: A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the social sciences, economics, education, mathematics, statistics, public administration, law or business administration may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles.
(Experience Requirement: One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at a maximum of 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement. Education Requirement: 12 units are equal to six months of education; 24 units are equal to one year of education.)

- Graduate advising documents and grade reports will not be accepted as unofficial transcripts.
- It is the responsibility of Los Rios Community College District employees to provide transcripts for the application process, if required by position.

All Positions: Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful clearance from a criminal background check, freedom from tuberculosis, and proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States prior to the first day of work.
