At The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center, (IROEC) we are seeking experienced camp and program staff to join our team this fall. We are a $33 million, state of the art facility on 210 acres in Orange County, California. We opened our door in October 2010 and currently serve more than 10,000 youth per year. The largest percentage of our students are 5th and 6th graders. It is preferred that you have a 2-year degree with an emphasis in education, recreation, youth development, or related fields to our science education program. Responsibilities include: •Oversee students/campers during their entire stay •Manage small groups of 10-15 students •Chaperone overnight in the student cabins (Monday - Thursday) •Teach science curriculum and engage students in all areas of the program •Physically able to lead hikes and other recreation activities at the zip line, archery range and the aquatic center •Collaborate with others and promote a positive attitude with the students and other staff members To Apply: •Fill out the on-line application •Attach electronic copy of resume and 2 letters of recommendations and letter of introduction Applications for the winter and spring seasons will be accepted without previously working in the fall. Must be available to work Monday at 8:00am - Friday until 5:00pm Must be able to pass a background check and drug test to complete hiring process. Program Seasons: Winter: *December 30, 2014 – March 27, 2015 Spring: *March 16 – June 19, 2015 (*Training begins on the first day of each session and last for 2 week. Attendance is required). Free Housing is available (separate contract required). Meals are provided when you are working with a school group.
