Requirements / Qualifications

**Substitutes are ‘on-call’ employees serving on a day-to-day basis. **The intent of a substitute is to fill in for an employee who is on a leave of absence. Substitutes are called for assignments through an automated system- SubFinder. Be advised that absences are unpredictable; therefore assignment offers are not guaranteed. BASIC FUNCTION Under general supervision, perform skilled functions and activities in cooking, baking and salad preparation in large quantities; assist in monitoring nutrition service personnel and in the maintenance of a food service facility in an orderly, safe and sanitary condition. EXPERIENCE One (1) year of experience in quantity food service preparation and food service facility maintenance in a commercial, institutional or school food service facility is required. EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent is required. Training, certification or coursework in nutrition, and food safety and sanitation procedures is preferred.

Upon hire, selected candidates will be asked to provide proof of a negative TB reading, perform a criminal background check by the Department of Justice and FBI, and pass an Employee Entrance Evaluation (lift test).
