The Groza Learning Center is a unique K-12 boutique learning center that provides personalized instruction and tutoring in reading, study skills, writing, math, and test preparation for high school and college entrance exams.  We are a small, successful, fast-growing company in our area with plans to expand.

We seek a candidate for the position of Director of Education. This position is primarily involves managing and training staff, program development, customer care, and team leadership. Director of Education must be a dynamic, gifted communicator who knows how to teach and has a deep understanding of  educating students grades K-12.  Candidate should have experience working with both students who have learning disabilities, and those that are top achievers. The Director of Education works with Co-Founder / Director of the company to lead a team of full and part-time employees, ensuring and maintaining the high level of service our company is known for.

The Director of Education is responsible for monitoring each tutoring session and parent communication to guarantee each student’s goals are implemented, such that the parent is satisfied with our service. Candidate needs to be a gifted, intuitive communicator who is able to pinpoint needs and cultivate a bond with each family, thus becoming a team with the parents for each child’s academic success.  Director of Education is also responsible for monitoring and supporting staff performance, and maintaining a positive relationship with our small, tight-knit community. Because we pride ourselves on maintaining a fun work environment for students and employees, candidate must have a sense of humor and enjoy the work environment. Specific experience with balancing fun and productivity is what we are looking for.

This position requires particularly high attention to detail, and the ability to understand and move freely between various academic disciplines.  A qualified Director of Education will have the ability to self-assess on a regular basis, always fine tuning their work to achieve more success. Experience in public and private education is highly desirable.

Director of Education responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1.    Ensuring student  goals and objectives are met, according to their individualized programs
2.    Responsible for training, managing, and supporting the staff of tutors in that pursuit
3.    Responsible for maintaining client satisfaction
4.    Build, modify, and adapt individualized programs for students
5.    Lead, motivate, and evaluate staff members
6.    Monitor and maintain center activity
7.    Work closely with students
8.    Meet and coach tutors on lesson plans
9.    Oversee parent communication and attend parent conferences
10.     Manage new projects
11.    Implement and train staff in creative teaching strategies and new curriculum
12.    Visit schools to meet with teachers and administrators
13.    Communicate regularly with parents / schools to make sure students needs are met
14.    Act as a positive role model to students

Qualifications:
1.    Minimum of bachelor’s degree with superb academic record
2.    An expert understanding of language arts, reading, math, science, and test preparation for students K-12
3.    Educational experience a plus. 1-2 years in teaching, teaching certificate, and/or curriculum development experience preferred but not required
4.    Excellent writing skills
5.    Strong problem solving, decision-making, creative thinking, and listening abilities
6.    Passion for customer service and business growth
7.    Ability to work independently and take initiative when owners are not present
8.    Desire to work in a fast paced, intense work environment
9.    Past success in education, training, sales, or retail service industries
10.    Strong leadership, motivation, customer service and communication skills
11.    Must enjoy children and working in a team environment

13.    Have the ability to manage time well with strategies in place to multi-task successfully
14.     Possess high energy and enthusiasm
