Vacaville Christian Schools is currently seeking a Middle School Mathematics Teacher.

VCS is actively seeking a Middle School math teacher.  We have a need to immediately fill this position.  Candidates must be Christians who are actively growing in their Christian faith, attending a Bible-believing church, and are good role models of Christian character.  Applicants should begin by filling out the Teacher application on the VCS website at http://www.go-vcs.com/index.cfm?pID=7095 . 

Responsibilities include teaching Algebra 1 and Math 6 courses, preparing weekly lesson plans, assessments, rubrics, and Moodle pages, grading and recording grades, parent and student communication/conferences, being part of the MS staff with required attendance at devotions, duties, staff meetings, fall retreat, Back to School Night, Conferences, SSTs, and Open Houses, and other teacher/staff duties.  We are in the process of building a strong STEM program so there is additional emphasis placed on filling this position with a strong, well-qualified teacher, preferably a teacher with a Masters’ degree.  Candidates for this position should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, a teaching credential, and have passed the Mathematics CSET, or be in progress with these items, with an estimated completion date of the summer of 2014.  All teachers are required to also obtain and keep current a teaching certification through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

All staff members are expected to be positive Christian role models and desire to both teach and mentor the students, work well on an academic team, show good sportsmanship and Christian character, maintaining a Christian role model at all times, and perform other duties as required. The ideal candidate will have a strong Christian testimony, teaching experience, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and be able to take direction from and work with others.
