SECONDARY CLASSROOM TEACHER – MATHEMATICS

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Structures class and uses appropriate instructional aids stressing “discovery” and laboratory learning methods.

Demonstrates mathematical concepts using models, chalkboard, overhead projector, and other standard or teacher-prepared instructional aids.

Design learning activities that will relate mathematics to the physical world.

Develops weekly lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the basic instructional philosophy and curriculum of the District.

Provides students with the opportunity to partake in daily patriotic observance. Education Code 52720.

Monitors classroom environment to ensure clean and safe conditions exist, notifying principal of any unclean or unsafe classroom conditions.

Monitors classroom activities making students responsible for putting materials, supplies, tools, etc., safely and neatly away at the end of the class session.

Requirements / Qualifications

- Valid California Single Subject Mathematics credential (not Foundational-Level Mathematics) - NCLB Highly Qualified in "Mathematics" (not Foundational-Level Mathematics) - English Learner Authorization

Attached credential copy must include DETAILED credential information including the document number, authorization code, authorization description, issue date and expiration date. Such copies can be obtained using the link provided to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing website through the “Secured Search” option. “SUITABLE FOR FRAMING” VERSIONS AND EXPIRED COPIES OF YOUR CREDENTIAL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
