Based in the Bay Area, Accelerate Center is comprised of a team of dedicated and enthusiastic professionals that have come together to deliver services as an integrative therapies collaborative that provides services in: tutoring/specialized academic instruction, Educational Therapy, educationally related Mental Health/Psychological Services, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Behavioral Therapy/ ABA treatment, Paraprofessional support, and other educationally related services to children with special needs.  

Accelerate Center is currently seeking qualified teachers/tutors to provide individualized instruction in various settings including: our Los Altos office, local schools, or in home settings. 

Limited positions are available with work to begin immediately. These are part time contracted positions with flexible hours and the potential for near full time hours as new students join our organization. 

Applicants must possess the following MINIMUM qualifications: 

- Bachelor or Master’s degree in education or related field AND Reading Specialist Credential OR Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Preferred)
- MINIMUM 3+ years teaching or tutoring experience (credentials a plus). 
- Must have experience with exceptional students and the ability to work with students who possess dual exceptionalities (gifted and LD). 
- Experience with exceptional students should include at least three of the following areas: Aspergers/autistic spectrum, ADD/ADHD, visual/auditory processing disorders, emotional disturbances, speech and language disorders, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia etc.) 
- Experience with, or ability to teach, courses as Independent Studies or adapt/modify current curriculum to meet students needs. 
- Ability to travel to student's homes. 
-Ability to work in an office setting. 
- Adaptive, patient, and possessing the ability to teach using a multi-modal educational approach. 
- Reliable and able to make a minimum of a 6-month commitment.
