BASIC FUNCTION: To provide assistance to the students, parents, and staff; and to perform numerous office duties that support the school operation and function n; and to perform clerical duties such as answering phone calls in support of the assigned office. SUPERVISION: The office assistant reports directly to the school principal EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Receives and answers calls and visitors and takes messages when necessary. 2. Ensure the smooth operation of the office by recording, filling, collecting, correcting, distributing, duplicating, and typing. 3. Check on the school email on a daily basis and respond professionally and within a timely manner. 4. Distribute incoming mail 5. Keep an accurate records of student files 6. Perform any other duties that are associated with maintaining an effective operation of the school office. QUALIFICATIONS: - Be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing - Maintains professionalism at all times including when faced with challenging situations - Work collaboratively with the office staff - Has a good foundation in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Drive. - Is able to keep records and has a good filing system to maintain an organized and efficient office. - Has a good command of the English Language. - Preferred to have the knowledge of basic first aid procedures and CPR. - Is able to meet the deadlines of the assigned tasks given by the principal. - Is able to prioritize tasks based on importance, deadlines, and priorities. Experience and Training: - Preferred to have at least an Associate Degree or at least the completion of the High School Diploma - Have experience and/or training required to perform the essential job functions. - CPR/First Aid Training
