Alum Rock Union Elementary School District WAREHOUSE WORKER I (12 Month) Responsibilities Under general supervision, stores, distributes, and provides inventory control of material. equipment, and supplies related to education programs; handles money; documents and reports safety hazards. Example of Duties Conducts quality control and quality assurance of shipments delivered to the warehouse. Provides attention to detail and ensures that shipments have conformity to purchase order specifications. Documents deliveries and performs basic record-keeping duties via the on-line purchasing system. Fills warehouse stock requisitions for delivery to District schools and departments; operates forklift in the loading, unloading, and placement of stock. Keeps shelves and goods in a clean and orderly condition; stocks and arranges warehouse shelves. Processes incoming shipments and inspects for damage. Delivers milk, produce, frozen foods, and other food supplies to District schools Assists in the inventory of supplies. Performs basic record-keeping duties. Delivers mail and supplies to District schools. Operates refrigerators, freezers, and refrigerated trucks and other vehicles in deliveries to schools or other locations. Drives a delivery vehicle on regular routes to various school, county, and District locations in conducting daily deliveries of books, supplies, and other materials. Collects cafeteria and student body money from schools; takes money for deposit to the District Office. Picks up and delivers special shipments including equipment, materials, and supplies incidental to vendor returns or exchanges. Maintains District archive files and storage area; retrieves files for District personnel as requested; processes and monitors disposal of records. Documents and reports safety hazards, including warehouse safety hazards. Special Requirements Possession of an appropriate California Drivers’ license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Ability to use bar code scanning for receiving, inventory, and purchasing processes. Must use a cellular phone during work hours. Successful completion of a physical examination by a licensed physician. Due to money handling responsibilities, must qualify for and obtain necessary bonding. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of Handling and arranging of warehouse type items. Proper forklift operations Safe driving practices. Correct loading techniques of delivery vehicles. Computers Ability to: Meet established deadlines, schedules, and time frames. Work during warehouse required hours to provide efficient and effective business operations (6:30 AM. — 3:30 P.M.) and as needed. Learn warehouse procedures, including methods of proper and orderly storage of food and materials, and stock inventory procedures. Keep accurate and current records. Perform heavy physical labor. Understand and carry out oral and written instruction. Work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work. Read and write at the level required for successful job performance. Input information on computers. Training and Experience: Six months of experience in clerical, supply, or delivery work, or any combination of training and/or experience that would likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Salary Range: 11.5 Work Year. 12 months Bargaining Unit: Teamsters
