Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE One year of experience working with school-age students performing control services is preferred. EDUCATION High school graduation or equivalent is required. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, BONDING AND/OR TESTING REQUIRED Successful completion of the District’s basic skills test. Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance are required. Possession of current First-Aid and CPR certification is required. Possession of current, state-issued Security Guard License is required. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. Must successfully complete 40 hours of training in compliance with SB 1628 upon hire. Training may include, but not be limited to: 1. Restraint and control techniques 2. Search, detaining, preliminary interrogations. 3. Chemical agent use. 4. Identification of dangerous drugs and improper substances. 5. Civil liability. 6. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First-Aid Certification. 7. Crowd control. 8. Gang awareness. Required to participate in ongoing training as provided by the District. PLEASE NOTE After the final filing date, applications will be screened and qualified applicants will be notified of the basic skills test date and time.
