Essential Functions
- Instruct students; prepare lesson plans, and supervise students during activities
- Communicate with other staff and parents, participates in staff development, and assesses student needs
- Assesses learning needs of individual students in assigned classes
- Maintains records and submit reports; plans and implements an instructional program which results in individual student progress toward established standards
- Plans and implements a program of evaluation to determine student progress toward established standards
- Develops and maintains a professional and ethical relationship with students, parents, school staff and the community
- Implements district policies and administrative rules and regulations in areas of responsibility
- Maintains proper student control and preserves a suitable learning environment
- Participates in in-service projects planned to improve the quality of the instructional program
- Maintains and submits required records and reports with reasonable accuracy and promptness
- Assumes responsibility for taking appropriate action concerning student problems
- Performs other duties including co-curricular duties as assigned by the building level administration.
- Supervises and assists in evaluation of assigned staff (Aides, etc.)
- Has responsibility for continued development of student growth in self-understanding, self-direction and realization of full potential
- Helps facilitate and contributes to pupil progress, as appropriate
- Assists in the development of standards of expected student progress in the specific area of study. (In conjunction with the building level administrator.)
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs (seldom), and occasionally carry 20 lbs.

Appropriate CA Teaching credential Single Subject (preferred) w/ELD Authorization NCLB Highly Qualified 2 Letters of Reference
